Local Government Workers Pay Award Non-Teaching staff

Local Government Employees (non-teaching) Pay Award: 1 April 2025

The final pay agreement covers a two-year period which runs from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2027. The increase, effective from 1st April 2025, is 4% across all grades and a 3.5% increase, effective from 1st April 2026.

The Payroll Team are currently busy working on the implementation of the new pay rates and the calculation of pay arrears.

During this period, the team will be focussing on enacting changes and therefore are unable to respond to any enquiries relating to the pay award, however, new rates and arrears will be paid as outlined in the table below. Further information is available in our FAQs. 

Employees who wish their arrears to be paid in instalments can request this by completing the arrears by instalment online form. Requests must be submitted no later than 5pm on Friday 15 August 2025. Forms received after this date will not be actioned. 

The table below details when the initial increase will take effect and when the arrears will be paid to employees:
