Free bike maintenance checks

Are you having a ‘wheelie’ good time on your bike this summer? Do you want to get up to speed on all things bike maintenance so you can make the most of time on your bike come rain or shine?

If so, our Trinity Active Travel team and The Travel Smart project will be saddling up this week over at The Portal in Irvine:

  • Wednesday 16 July (10am until 1pm)

  • Friday 18 July (10am until 1pm)

Why not get your bikes booked in for a free health check? Register now via the Bike Health Check Registration Form.

Other upcoming sessions will be:

  • Thursday 17 July at West Kilbride Community Centre (6pm-8pm)

  • Thursday 31 July, Fullarton Connextions, Irvine (6pm-8pm)

Great to give you peace of mind via a complete bike health check, it is also the perfect chance to learn more about the accessible cycle routes and cycling sessions that the team has to offer. The main purpose of the sessions are to teach you how to look after your bike and do minor repairs on the go.

Whatever type of bike you have, the team will be on-hand to give advice on how to keep it in working order.

For future cycling events, give the team a follow on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TrinityActiveTravelHub

If you notice any rubbing, clicking or grinding noises when out on your own bike, that could mean that something isn’t working as well as it should be.

Don’t wait for something to break down mid-ride, book your place at one of the free sessions to learn how to complete basic repairs on your bike and for advice. A well-maintained bike will keep you safe, save you money, and ensure smooth riding this summer!
