Inspire the future workforce

Would your team like to share your focus, passion and inspiration with the future workforce?

Whether it’s over the course of a working week, or once a week over several months to lighten the load on your team while still nurturing longevity, the Employability team are reaching out to services to support young learners across North Ayrshire by signing up to provide a work experience placement during the next academic year…

To support young people to make decisions on future career pathways, inspire their future careers and to promote the wide range of North Ayrshire Council jobs, the Employability team are aiming to increase the number of council-based work experience placements overall, but they need your help!

Available for pupils from North Ayrshire schools, the work experience programme will be delivered in partnership with Developing the Young Workforce located within the Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce.

To pledge a work placement opportunity, you will be required to provide the following information:

  • The team(s) hosting the placement and the mentor/supervisor
  • The job role(s) the young person will focus on
  • Anticipated tasks to be completed as part of the work experience placement
  • How long the placement will last (one full week / once a week for an agreed duration)
  • Working Hours / Days of attendance – limit to 40 hours a week (including meal breaks). · Ensure that risks are controlled before the placement starts: Risk Assessment Guidance

To offer a work experience placement, complete the Microsoft registration form – services have until the registration deadline of Friday 29 August. Following completion of the MS Form, the Employability team will contact you to make the necessary arrangements.
