Action required for AED locations

The Community Resources team have concluded their comprehensive review of AED (Automated External Defibrillator) arrangements.

Conducted throughout 2024, the Executive Leadership Team has now approved the recommendations based on the review, and Community Resources are now implementing measures to enhance our readiness to respond to sudden cardiac arrests in and around our workplaces.

If you are responsible for a Council location with an AED, the team seek your input on the following documents:

Draft AED Policy/Guidance and Toolbox Talk

  • Please review these documents and share them with your team
  • Suggestions for improvements and any questions/feedback are welcome

AED Register

  • Review the current AED register for accuracy, complete any gaps and indicate in red text any changes
  • Consider a needs assessment in collaboration with your service AED lead and detail any proposed additional units in the end column.

Please submit all feedback on these documents via email by Friday 7 March 2025 through your Service Lead.  For specific questions, contact Donna Morrison, Team Manager (Connected Communities) and AED project lead.

After incorporating your feedback, the final documentation will be published on Connects, with an alert in News in Brief. Documents were issued on 12 February, please get in touch if you require these to be issued again. Thank you for your ongoing cooperation in this important initiative.
