A local firm has shown true community spirit and support to North Ayrshire Council and residents during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Beith-based Bonnymans has provided a vast quantity of hand gel to help Council staff continue carrying out valuable services to some of the area’s most vulnerable people.
The cleansing product will be used for priority cases and will be particularly invaluable for Health and Social care staff who are working in the community and in care homes.
Councillor Joe Cullinane, Leader of North Ayrshire Council, said: “We are absolutely blown away by this kind and thoughtful gesture. We can’t thank Bonnymans enough for stepping up and showing this level of support.
“We are no different to any organisation or business and resources are stretched during this extremely difficult time. It’s no secret that hand gel and cleaning products are in high demand just now. Obviously that’s a major concern for our staff. They do the most selfless work in the community but we have to protect and support them too. This donation will do that and allow them to keep working and helping some of our vulnerable residents.
“These are unprecedented times for all of us. We are all going to suffer, we are all going to struggle and it’s absolutely vital we all look out for each other. Bonnymans have really helped us and I’m sure others, whether its individuals or businesses, will all play a part in what is going to be a really team effort over the coming weeks and months.”
Stephen Allam, Managing Director of Bonnymans, said: “We were absolutely delighted to help out. We understand the work the Council carry out and know how vital hand gel is for some of their frontline staff.
“We all have a part to play and it’s important we all think of the bigger picture as we move forward during these difficult times.”
