The £459million Revenue Budget pays for the day-to-day services we will provide over the next year.  It has a clear focus on measures to help residents and communities while maintaining frontline services and protecting jobs.

Some of the key highlights include:

Continued support to help people with the Cost-of-Living Crisis, including the most vulnerable members of our communities
Council Tax to rise by 7% from April 1 - one of the lowest increases across the whole of Scotland.
A reinforcement of our commitment to net-zero carbon emissions
Continued protection of frontline services across the Council despite the continuing challenging economic climate
Further investment of £1million in our roads infrastructure as well as additional funding of £250,000 in Streetscene
£300,000 will be invested into a proposal to create a wellbeing enterprise hub at the Greenwood Conference Centre

Our £331million Capital Budget was also approved on budget day and commits investment over the coming years to a series of important infrastructure projects. Among these exciting projects are:

Delivery of the new Ardrossan Community Campus and wider improvements around the coastal quarter
Investment for roads and the street lighting network, upgrading of the B714, flood prevention works, bridges infrastructure improvement and Active Travel projects.
Investment into open spaces such as parks, cemeteries, war memorials, playing fields, residential greenspace, promenades and beaches.
Continue to support the £251million Ayrshire Growth Deal which is being delivered in partnership with the UK and Scottish Government and East Ayrshire and South Ayrshire councils.

The Budget will also support a diverse range of core infrastructure projects such as continued investment into street lighting, the expansion of Universal Free School Meals Expansion, and Millburn Flood Protection Scheme on Cumbrae.
