The Special Police Constable role is a volunteering role like no other. Flexible and dedicating 4 hours each week or up to 96 hours or more per year, all you need to be is over 18+ (with no upper age limit).

As a special constable, you will be given identical powers to that of a police officer, who you will work alongside and at times that best suit you.

Full training will be provided to support our colleagues on the street safely.
Initially, 7 consecutive days will be required to attend one of our training centres for your basic training and this will be supported by further online training sessions. This training is currently being delivered by our national learning and training department.
