Connects clean up

The Web and Digital Experience team within IT service have now started the Connects annual review, and they need your help…

The annual review will involve a tidy up of all content and documents, ensuring these are accessible and up to date with accurate information.

If you create content on Connects, now is the perfect time to review it to assess what can be removed as well as what needs updated and made accessible to ensure users can get the information they need.

The team will be in touch in the coming weeks with all owners to discuss this and will be providing support throughout the process. Until then, please use this week as a head start on thinking about how your pages and documents can be improved.

If you need some support, we recommend studying our Digital Accessibility section which highlights the fundamentals and importance of making documents accessible.

With the launch of the new North Ayrshire Council website and upcoming Connects annual review, it is important that we all keep striving to make content accessible for everyone.

With that in mind, please remember that the Digital Accessibility section on Connects is packed with useful accessibility guidance including:

  • Why accessibility matters
  • Fixing common document accessibility issues
  • Carrying out manual accessibility checks
  • Creating accessible document structures and tables
  • Readability and writing for the website
  • Using colour and images accessibly
  • Using Dania Assist.
