Cunninghame House ready for next phase of work

The next phase of changes to Cunninghame House is set to get under way in the coming weeks.

You will recall that last year, it was announced that our properties in Irvine were being rationalised which would mean changes for staff at Cunninghame House and Bridgegate.

That process has seen staff moving desk or floor within Cunninghame House, while for others it has seen them move to Cunninghame House from a different office.

Following a procurement exercise, M-Tech has been appointed as the main contractor and will be commencing work on the next phase of the work in the coming weeks, likely to be from 2 June.

This phase will see the formation of the new training suite on 4th floor west. Following on from that, works to the ground floor east to create the new Customer Services Centre is currently scheduled to get under way in October.

Laurence Cree, Head of Sustainability, Transport & Corporate Property, said: “The rationalisation of our Irvine offices is the first step of a wider programme across North Ayrshire.

“Overall, the works will be on-going until summer next year and we would like to thank all staff for their patience during this time as there will be some noise and disruption due to the nature of the work.

“There will be many long-term benefits from the changes we are making –  maximising the use of our buildings will help reduce costs as well as improve energy efficiency and reduce our carbon footprint.”
