Digital learning all in one place

IT have created a new one-stop-shop for digital learning resources and opportunities.

With everything from learning about Microsoft 365 to problem-solving and finding peer support, IT have got you covered in their new IT Digital Learning Hub.

This destination on Connects includes:

  • IT training – including helpful resources on how to book meeting rooms, log jobs on the self-serve IT customer portal (Hornbill) and guidance on how to use everyday council systems like CHRIS payroll and Kelio
  • results from the Digital Skills Survey – We recently asked North Ayrshire Council staff about their digital skills, and over 700 of you took part. The results show that while we’re doing great in many areas, there are still some challenges we need to focus on
  • dedicated Microsoft 365 support – Updated independently from the M365 Learning Hub mentioned in this article, the dedicated support section features a host of articles, hints and tips on how to make the most of Microsoft 365
  • there’s also the Digi Guru’s section with all the info you need to know on how to find colleagues who can support you with digital queries, sharing knowledge and best working practices

Finally, the new IT Digital Learning Hub also has a dedicated Microsoft 365 skills hub section.

The M365 skills hub is a new addition to the wealth of IT training materials currently available on Connects. It has a dedicated online learning resource for Microsoft users, created by NHS Scotland and Digital Scotland.

All council employees can access the hub upon request.

Please note: You must have the Microsoft Authenticator app installed on your mobile device before you can be granted access.

So, what exactly is there to learn about on the hub?

  • the M365 skills hub has guided learning modules that you can go through at your own pace, so you can upskill at a time convenient for you
  • there’s tailored custom guidance so you can make the most out of Microsoft 365
  • recorded training sessions keep you updated on how to use the different M365 apps
  • a dedicated sign up allows you to register for future live training sessions
  • there’s the option to ask questions and get help and advice
  • finally, a helpful monthly roundup summary of everything new is published via the hub
