Charity Guide Dogs Scotland alongside Young People’s Services (CYP) are delighted to invite children with a vision impairment and their immediate family members to a special event at Glasgow Science Centre on Saturday 21 October from 10am to 3pm.
Refreshments will be available and a packed lunch provided, with members of the charity’s Family Support, Technology, Buddy Dog and Habilitation Services on hand to answer any questions that you may have.
As well as a host of fun activities and attractions, the event will also offer a great opportunity to meet with other children and families.
Children with a vision impairment plus one parent/guardian can attend for free. Additional immediate family members can also attend at a cost of £5 per person. Booking is essential, so please contact familyevents@guidedogs.org.uk if you’d like to go along.
Priority will be given to families who have not attended an event previously and bookings should be made before Monday 7 August. Those who have attended an event before are also welcome to apply during this period, but will be added to a waiting list until after this date, when bookings will open to all.
Guide Dogs offers a range of services for children and adults with a vision impairment. Children and Young People’s services include buddy dogs, Custom Eyes large print books, My Time to Play for children aged 0 to 4, and much more. For more information, visit the Guide Dogs website.
