Get ready for the changes coming to Cunninghame House

Staff across Cunninghame House and Bridgegate House are urged to begin clearing out the clutter as soon as possible.

Following the recent announcement about our buildings in Irvine, it will see location changes for many staff.

The process will get under way in just a few weeks time, meaning teams in different departments will be on the move in Cunninghame House.

Staff are asked not to leave any clear-outs until the last minute.

Chief Executive Craig Hatton said: “Colleagues will know that we have big changes on the horizon. The rationalisation of our Irvine offices is the first step of a wider programme across North Ayrshire.

“For some, this may mean moving desk or floor within Cunninghame House, while for others it may mean moving to Cunninghame House from a different office.

“But we have to prepare for those changes and the best time to start is now.

“Before the moves get under way in October, staff should have cleared their workspaces of any clutter or unneeded materials.

“Once again, I would like to pass on my appreciation to colleagues for everything you do each day to deliver services across North Ayrshire.

“Although the moves may mean some temporary upheaval, we fully appreciate your efforts in continuing to deliver a first-class service for our communities.

“There will be many long-term benefits from the changes we are making – we continue to face significant financial challenges and maximising the use of our buildings will help reduce costs as well as improve energy efficiency and reduce our carbon footprint.

“Thank you once again for your efforts and, with your support, I’m sure the move will go smoothly.”

With the moves getting under way in October, the new floor plans for Cunninghame House have been approved and these will be shared with teams soon.

The changes will see the integration of staff from Bridgegate House, along with the formation of a new Training Suite and a revamped main reception and Customer Service Centre.

Colleagues are requested that existing waste bins are not filled beyond capacity, and any large or bulky items are set aside for a later uplift.

In addition to clearing out your workspace, staff are encouraged to see this change as an opportunity to streamline working practices and only retain hardcopy filing where it is either a legal obligation, or where it is necessary for the service to operate.

In addition to clearing out your workspace, staff are encouraged to see this change as an opportunity to streamline working practices and only retain hardcopy filing where it is either a legal obligation, or where it is necessary for the service to operate.

Where possible, and in accordance with record retention, documents should be electronically scanned, and paper copies disposed through confidential waste processes.

This change in working practice also supports the hybrid profiles where staff can still access important documents, but from remote locations.
