North Ayrshire Councils Education service has invested in Microsoft 365 Licensing, this enables many new applications and features becoming available for our teachers and school staff.
IT Services are working closely with the education team to deploy the new updated applications and features are included in the slide and info box at the end of this article.
Before enabling the M365 services, it’s important that IT have accurate ‘user account’ information to allow the team to manage licenses and account security.
Therefore, they will be synchronising full name, designation and location data held in our CHRIS HR system to each user account (of colleagues working within Education). This information will be synchronised daily and will ensure account information is accurate and up to date.
What to look out for…
Initially, you will notice your user display name change from something like “Miss White” to “Carolann White (Teacher / Pennyburn Primary School)”. This information is based on your employee number information.

If it is not accurate, please call the service desk on 01294 324290 to confirm the employee number on your user account is correct. Otherwise, you will need to speak to your line manager to ensure the HR system holds accurate information.
Once this initial step is complete, it will establish a managed and secure M365 identity for education staff members in line with other corporate NAC Staff.
The synchronisation will be carried out the weekend of Friday 31 January the changes will be in effect from Monday 3 February.
