Joint inspections of services for children at risk

At the request of Scottish Ministers, the Care Inspectorate is leading a programme of joint inspections of services for children at risk of harm across Scotland.

The inspection will consider the experience of children and young people who have either had a formal plan or received an alternative service to improve and support their well-being and manage risk – for example, children on the Child Protection Register, subject to a Child Protection investigation, children who have been involved in a Vulnerable Young Person process or any other risk processes.

It will take account of the full range of work within a community planning partnership area including services provided by health visitors, school nurses, CAMHS, teachers, doctors, social workers, police officers and the voluntary sector.

Inspection activities are already under way and will continue until the end of February 2022. The Care Inspectorate intends to publish the report of our inspection in early March 2022.
