Important: The Council is currently looking for Polling Staff and reserve staff across North Ayrshire for the upcoming Local Government Elections.
We currently have vacancies at the following Polling Places on Thursday 5 May 2022:
- Presiding Officer (£261 gross) at Beith Community Centre, Beith
- Presiding Officer (£261 gross) at Beith Parish Church Hall, Beith
- Presiding Officer (£261 gross) at High Kirk Hall, Stevenston
- Information / Covid Officer (£192 gross) at Barrfields Pavilion at Vikingar!, Largs
- Polling Clerk (£192 gross) at DA Hall, Millport, Isle of Cumbrae
We are also looking for Postal Voting Clerks who will assist with the opening and processing of Postal Votes at the Townhouse, Irvine. There is an hourly rate of £8.91 paid to postal voting clerks (paid in addition to your hourly rate). Postal votes are opened and processed from Monday 25 April through to Thursday 5 May 2022 (staff are not expected to attend every opening session).
In addition, we are looking for reserve staff across North Ayrshire if any of our Polling Staff call off or are unwell on Polling Day. Reserve Staff will need to be able to be contacted and attend a Polling Place at short notice on Polling Day. These reserve staff will receive a standby payment of £25.00 (they will receive a full payment for the role they perform if they are called out).
