Local residents are being invited to have their say on how their towns can be even better and the towns of Largs and Kilwinning are next.
Communities in Largs, Saltcoats and Kilwinning are being asked to get involved and help shape the future of their towns.
Upcoming public design workshops will help inform the preparation of a plan called a ‘Place Framework’ for each town which will help guide future decisions within the areas.
Kilwinning and Largs residents invited to get involved
A project team, led by Austin-Smith:Lord with WAVEparticle consultants, have been appointed to work with local people to develop projects and ideas with a focus on delivery and future funding opportunities.
The upcoming workshop events have been rescheduled after they were postponed in May. A similar workshop has already taken place in Saltcoats and proved successful. The pilot project aims to identify priorities and projects to address local needs and ambitions.
The discussions will allow people to propose ideas and projects to make the town even better in the future.
Janet Dunsmore, Regeneration Manager at North Ayrshire Council, said: “We are looking forward to working with our project team and local residents to develop a framework to enhance each of the towns.”
Councillor Scott Davidson, Cabinet Member for Place added: “Local communities know their towns better than anyone and their views will be invaluable as we develop new ideas and themes for Largs, Kilwinning and Saltcoats.
“We look forward to hearing the views and ideas of the residents, businesses and visitors so that we can improve their towns not only for local people but for tourists too.”
