National mentoring charity MCR Pathways is seeking volunteers who can ‘Share an Hour’ and provide more young people with a mentor who’s there just for them.
MCR carefully matches young people with a mentor to meet in their school for just one hour each week, with this one-to-one relationship often making a profound impact on their confidence. With their mentor’s help, they feel supported to focus on their future pathway.
No qualifications are needed to become a mentor, just the desire to make a difference.
As well as the life-changing impact on a young person, volunteers also benefit, gaining new skills in active listening, communication and leadership.

MCR Pathways is recognised for its national, award-winning mentoring programme. Their vision is for all young people to experience equality of education outcomes, career opportunities and life chances.
The charity’s school-based mentoring programme supports young people to find, grow and use their talents – check out the videos in this article from Auchenharvie Academy to find out more about how pupils and mentors have benefitted.
