As the dreich weather continues, colleagues are reminded that the staff café on the 4th floor is open and a warm welcome and tasty food and drinks await you.

Staff and their visitors can enjoy a freshly brewed cuppa, hot roll, light lunch or cake daily (weekdays).

Food is freshly prepared at our commercial kitchen in Irvine Royal Academy so very little food miles.

Open from 8.30am until 2.30pm Monday to Friday, the café – located on 4th floor East provides and offers lots of choice if you don’t want to venture elsewhere or have a busy day ahead.

Breakfast offers a choice of hot drinks and breakfast rolls with lunchtime highlights such as homemade soup, pasta, sandwiches, baguettes, paninis, healthy baked potatoes and salad boxes.

And for those of you with a sweet-tooth, there’s cakes-a-plenty to enjoy…

Whether you’re popping in to start the day happy and full or stopping by for a quick juice and sandwich, the team are looking forward to welcoming you back to the café.

A word of warning though, the soup goes fast as do the toffee-pop biscuits, empires and scones! So don’t miss out, if you’re not fast, you’re last!

BRING YOUR OWN CUP
The Council has an ambitious goal to become a carbon-free Council by 2030. We as staff can do our part to become more climate-conscious too by bringing our own cups to the café.

If you do, you’ll get 30p off your hot drink (excluding the breakfast deal) and help the team to cut carbon and unnecessary waste.

Did you know that there’s 74 steps from the ground floor to the fourth floor? If you are physically able to, get some extra steps in by taking the stairs instead of the lift to the cafe. Then, if you do get a treat, your metabolism will be kick-started to burn off some of those extra calories.
