Did you know that if you work for the local authority, Health, Police, Ayrshire College, Fire and Rescue and many more, you are a Corporate Parent to all those children and young people that are care experienced in North Ayrshire?
Even if you don’t regularly worth with care experienced children or their parents, your service may still have an impact on the lives of these families and individuals. You still have statutory duty to assess and support their needs, identify opportunities for them and help them to access those opportunities. This is a shared responsibility of all of us.
Care Day is a global celebration (and the world’s largest celebration) of children and young people with experience of care. We want a world where children and young people who have overcome adversities are proud of themselves, their achievements and look forward to a future of opportunity, equality and equity.
Care Day is a moment for children, young people and adults to unite in celebrating care experienced children and young people, their stories and their achievements. It is also a time for Corporate Parents to reflect on what we can continue to do, to positively influence their lives.
This Care Day, The Corporate Parenting Team are hosting an Information Drop In session at Cunninghame House Garnock Committee Room Ground Floor East on Friday 17 February from midday until 1pm for Corporate Parents across the partnership. Come along to meet the team for a cuppa and a chat on your lunch break.
