IT services have created a new Accessibility Checklist on Connects. The aim of the accessibility checklist is to help ensure digital services are usable by as many people as possible, including those with disabilities.
This digital support resource will guide you in creating accessible content for digital platforms across the North Ayrshire Council Estate.
We have simplified guidance to help everyone understand and meet the minimum accessibility requirements – Web Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 – for public sector bodies.
The checklist is broken down into categories of Content owner, Designer, and Developer. Each category provides guidance on regulations, a list of success criteria, and information on those impacted by each criterion.
The checklist also provides links to WCAG regulations and information written by NHS.UK to encourage internal collaborative digital learning. Feel free to share the checklist with your teams or colleagues to raise awareness.
