New mandatory module: Trauma informed training

As part of North Ayrshire Council’s ambition to become a trauma-informed and trauma-responsive organisation, we are pleased to announce the introduction of a new mandatory training module about trauma on i-Learn.

No matter what role you undertake, having a basic understanding of what trauma is and how it can affect individuals you work with or come across is an important element of your role.

Trauma is everyone’s business and understanding the basic principles of being trauma-informed is crucial.

You can now access this module as part of the suite of mandatory training modules for all council employees on the i-Learn site. This module must be completed annually.

The training also features an informative animation produced by NHS Education for Scotland in partnership with the Scottish Government. It has been designed to be relevant to all workers within the Scottish workforce.

Watch the video below if you would like to know how you can adapt the way that you work to make a positive difference to people affected by trauma and adversity.
