New restrictions come into force at 6pm today (Friday, November 20) to help prevent the spread of Coronavirus.

These new measures include a number of changes, one of the most significant being where we can and can’t travel to over the next few weeks.

You might be wondering how this affects you, particularly if you live in an area which has been designated Level 4, while North Ayrshire remains at level 3.

Our guidance to all staff remains the same – those who can work from home should continue to do so. Frontline staff, keyworkers and employees who cannot work from home should, as usual, continue to travel to work, even if you live in a Level 4 area. Employees are reminded to carry their North Ayrshire Council identification when travelling for work.

If you have any questions or concerns, we ask to raise these with your line manager in the first instance.

You may also find our regularly-updated Frequently Asked Questions document helpful. Additional guidance on the Local Protection Levels and what this means for you is available on the Scottish Government’s website.

While you might be apprehensive about the changes, we would urge you to stick with them as we all have a part to play in beating Covid-19. While it may be tempting to travel to areas where non-essential retail remains open, please don’t take that risk.
