Following the success of last year’s Employability Week, the Council’s employability service ‘Your Next Move, Working North Ayrshire’ is hosting another special week of events next week (27 – 31 May) that will help people access the support they need to get into work or training.
The itinerary for the week is below:
Monday 27 May: Modern Apprentice Event, Volunteer Rooms 10am – 1.30pm (Quiet hour 10am – 11am): Young people can talk to the Council services that will have apprenticeships available, find out about the job and get support to apply.
Tuesday 28 May: CEIS Open Day, 46 Bank Street Irvine 10am – 12pm
An opportunity to find out about CEIS employment support programmes for those 25 years and over.
Tuesday 28 May: New Youth Hub Open Day, Stevenston Library 2pm – 4pm
The opening of a new employability hub for young people aged 16 to 24.
Wednesday 29 May: BBQ at Eglinton Community Gardens, Eglinton Park 11am – 2.30pm
A fun day and a chance to find out about our supported employment service EQUAL, volunteering with TACT & employability support from our Criminal Justice Team. There will be lots of information, crafts, gardening stalls and more!
Thursday 30 May: Employer Breakfast, Riverside Lodge Hotel Irvine 9am – 10.30am
A chance for local employers to hear about the offer of support from Your Next Move Working North Ayrshire, Fair & Skills Ayrshire, NHS Salus and Skills Development Scotland.
Thursday 30 May: Parent Hub’s 1st Birthday, Glasgow Street, Ardrossan 11am – 1pm
An event to celebrate the first anniversary of the Parent Hub. The open day will promote the variety of support that the We Work for Families Team can offer to parents.
Friday 31 May: Jobs Fair, Saltcoats Town Hall 10am – 12.30pm (Quiet time 12pm – 12.30pm)
An opportunity to meet local employers to find out about job vacancies and to speak with employment services for support.
