IJB recruiting carer and service user representatives

Are you an unpaid carer living in North Ayrshire, or a current service user of North Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership?

Would you like an opportunity to share your views on the work North Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership does and to help influence future decision-making?

NAHSCP is currently looking for service user and unpaid carer representatives to sit on our Integration Joint Board (IJB).

The IJB is responsible for the planning, resourcing and delivery of NHS Ayrshire & Arran and North Ayrshire Council social care services.

Membership of the Board is made up of elected councillors, North Ayrshire Council members and representatives from the independent and third sectors, service users/public representatives, staff and carers.

Both roles involve engaging and gathering views from either other service users or unpaid carers. Using this, and your own experience, will give the perspective of service users and unpaid carers to the work of the IJB on the future of health and social care services in North Ayrshire.

Bob Martin, Chair of North Ayrshire Integration Joint Board, said: “Our public representatives are extremely important to us. It is crucial that the voices and experiences of unpaid carers and users of our services are listened to in order to ensure that the IJB makes informed decisions when it comes to improving our services.

“We want to know what matters to you, and this is a fantastic opportunity to help shape how social care is delivered in North Ayrshire.

“We would urge anyone who is willing to share their own experience and act as a representative for others in a similar situation to themselves to please find out more and consider applying.”

If you are currently using any NAHSCP services – or if you provide unpaid help and support to a relative, friend or neighbour who cannot manage to live independently without help – and are interested in applying, visit http://nahscp.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/IJB-Recruitment-Information-Pack.pdf.

The deadline for application has been extended until Friday 26 November.

There are no formal qualifications required, and you also can find out more about what the role entails, the skills and experience required and the support you would receive in order to carry out any duties by following the link.
