Our Employee Journey – Stage Two

The second stage in the journey is probably the most significant section – it provides support split into two, one for managers and one for employees.

The Managers section:

A new ‘Preparation Checklist’ – with links to the basics to be organised before your new employee starts, all in one place.

A new Day 1 checklist – reminding you of the little things that can mean a lot and helping to create that positive first impression as well as keeping employee safety at the forefront of their first day.

Pre-populated Development Record – a summary of all of the development that your new employee should be undertaking, regardless of their role. Some of it you will need to ensure you get the nomination logged into CHRIS (hopefully in the future we can automate this), however meantime we have removed the need to nominate for e-learning.

The Employee’s Section:

New employee Information – information that all new employees need to know but hopefully in a style and format that is easy to read and digest. Employees can work through it at their leisure and if they save this site to their favourites, they can dip in and out of it whilst they are getting to grips with their new role. Whilst we are currently not delivering a face to face induction course, we will be sending a link out to new employees with this information, however managers can also do this! Manager’s should know what’s in here, so that they don’t duplicate any information as part of any service induction information.

iLearn Log in details – with effect from August we will automatically send out log in details to new employees, providing access to iLearn from Day 1. This will allow them to get on with the mandatory e-learning they need to complete within their first 6 months. (please note access for casual/sessional employees will still need to be requested from L&OD)

New Six Month questionnaire – a new, short survey asking employees to provide us with their views about their Induction experience. This will allow us to find out what’s working and what needs to be improved. (this information will be collated at a Service level).

Take a few minutes to look over the Employee Starts (Induction) information to see how it can support you and your new employees.
