North Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership (NAHSCAP) have received some additional reports of telephone scam attempts targeting North Ayrshire residents.
Callers claiming to be from NAC or NAHSCP are asking for bank details over the phone for a variety of reasons, often targeting elderly or vulnerable residents.
In several cases, scammers have advised that payments are due for telecare services, such as community alarm services and fall detectors, or have offered additional services at a cost.
NAC and NAHSCP will NEVER ask for bank details over the phone. If you work with elderly or vulnerable service users, please alert them to the possibility of scam calls and ask them to hang up the phone immediately should they receive a call from anyone claiming to work for us and asking for bank details.
Caution is also advised around private companies cold-calling to offer telecare services and asking for bank details.
