This week is Scottish Breastfeeding Week

Scottish Breastfeeding Week takes place on 13th to 19th June this year. The events organised are detailed (right). Staff are encouraged to please signpost them to families they know who may be interested in attending or need support.

All the Breastfeeding Network groups will be Scottish themed  with shortbread available and flag/tartan making arts and crafts. A walk is arranged on Saturday 18 June at 2pm at Dean Castle Kilmarnock – attendees are meeting at the map at entrance.

There will be a series of pictures and mums’ stories decorating Ayrshire Maternity Unit and the week will be acknowledged on daily digest and on the Ayrshire Bairns App.

There will also be lots of posts on social media highlighting all the work that goes on in Scotland to support, promote and protect breastfeeding and families can also share their stories and pictures on social media with the hashtags:

#SBW2022
#ScottishBreastfeedingWeek2022
#SupportingBreastfeedingInScotland
#BreastfeedingFriendlyScotland

Follow the campaign on the Breastfeeding Friendly Scotland Ayrshire FB page – here  and encourage local families to join the Ayrshire Breastfeeding Centres FB group here.
