The Scottish Parliamentary Elections will take place on Thursday 6 May 2021 from 7am – 10pm, with verification and counting of votes taking place on Friday 7 May 2021.
The Pre-Election period for these Elections runs from Monday 15 March 2021 to Thursday 6 May 2021. During this time, it is essential that Council employees and Elected Members follow the guidance on conduct and behavior to ensure that the integrity of these Elections is maintained.
All Council employees have a duty to ensure that they act in an impartial and non-political manner during their day to day duties. This will be particularly important during the pre-election period, and running up to the day of the poll, when political sensitivities may be heightened.
Elected Members have a duty to ensure that they do nothing to compel or influence Council employees to act in a political manner, or to carry out acts which would be deemed to be political.
Please familiarise yourself with the Pre-Election Guidance, which can be found on our website.
