Staff at the Dirrans Centre in Kilwinning are celebrating after achieving a Silver Award in the ‘We Invest in Wellbeing’ programme.
Run by Investors in People, the programme looks at the social, physical and psychological wellbeing of staff; the quality and safety of the workplace, and how people feel about their work and the culture they experience.
The scheme is based on three primary indicators – Leading a Culture of Wellbeing, Supporting a Culture of Wellbeing, and Improving a Culture of Wellbeing, with a series of criteria behind each of these indicators that allows progression from the Standard award, through to Silver, Gold and Platinum.
The Dirrans Centre has held Investors in People (IIP) status since 2005, latterly maintaining the Platinum Award for six consecutive years, recognising leadership and innovation in practice.
However, in 2023 the team decided to aim for a different award, instead working towards IIP’s new wellbeing program.
This has involved a commitment to staff wellbeing and developing a new wellbeing policy and strategy, which over time will be supported by evidence around how job satisfaction, job retention and productivity improve with better staff wellbeing.
A team-building culture has been embedded at the centre, with this being boosted through access to the NAHSCP staff wellbeing fund over the past two years.
Nicola Rowan, Unit Manager at the Dirrans Centre, said: “Gaining this Silver ‘We Invest in Wellbeing’ award reflects our ongoing commitment to fostering a healthy, supportive and positive environment for our staff.
“Achieving this milestone is testament to the hard work, dedication and passion our team brings to promoting wellbeing in the workplace. We are all really proud. Next stop… we’re going for Gold!”
Well done to everyone involved in this fantastic achievement!
