Staff from across the three Ayrshire HSCPs, local authorities and NHS A&A were joined by stakeholders and partners at the Riverside Lodge Hotel in Irvine on Wednesday 14 December for a successful Creating Hope Together event, focusing on how we best work together to prevent suicide in Ayrshire.
Following the publication of a new Suicide Prevention Strategy and Action Plan for Scotland, the Pan Ayrshire Suicide Prevention Group is now working to develop an ambitious local plan that will be informed and shaped by the views and experiences of a wide range of partners.
The event was attended by representatives of Police Scotland, Scottish Fire and Rescue, COSLA and Public Health Scotland, as well as a number of third sector organisations, with useful discussions and presentations highlighting some of the fantastic initiatives already under way across Ayrshire.
Thoughts, ideas and information shared by attendees during the event’s workshop sessions will now be collated by the Suicide Prevention Group for consideration as they begin work on the new plan.
