Testers wanted for new accessibility tool

Colleagues are invited to take part in online testing of a new accessibility tool for our North Ayrshire Council website.

IT Services has developed a tool with the following accessibility functions:

  • translation
  • font style control and high contrast mode
  • OpenDyslexic font and custom colours

In advance of publishing live on the site, we want to test that the new tool works for people who are multilingual, or might choose to use the above functionality for any of the following:

  • dyslexia symptoms
  • visual or cognitive impairment
  • neurodivergent symptoms
  • situational impairment, for example sensitive to light, eyestrain

Testing sessions are confidential.

We’d appreciate if you would share with us why you would choose to use the accessibility tool, but this isn’t mandatory.

Testing will take place via Teams and should take no longer than 20 minutes.

We’ll ask you to share your screen and use the tool to carry out 5 short tasks.

We’ll observe how the tool performs, take notes, and ask you some questions about your experience.

To volunteer as a tester, email the Web & Digital Experience team with your January availability and one of the team will be in touch.
