North Ayrshire Council is supporting Reusable Nappy Week again this year.
There are many benefits of using “real nappies.” In the UK, 8 million nappies are sent to landfill each day. Studies show that you can reduce your environmental impact by up to 40% by choosing reusable nappies.
As well as being more environmentally friendly, reusable nappies can help parents save money.
On average a baby goes through 5,000 disposable nappies, a cost of around £650 to £1300. A set of ‘real’ nappies costs £200 or less.
