The Care & Support North Ayrshire (Carena) website will be closing on Thursday 1 August.
The website, which is run by NAHSCP and has been in operation for several years, allows North Ayrshire residents to search for information about organisations that deliver services, activities and support across our localities, as well as providing contact details.
The decision to shut down Carena was made after lengthy discussions about the current suitability of the site, which is difficult to maintain, does not comply with UK accessibility regulations, and no longer meets the needs of our communities.
NAHSCP is in the process of contacting our providers, Third Sector partners and GP practices to inform them of the upcoming closure and asking them to instead direct anyone looking for local health, care and support services in North Ayrshire to the Scotland’s Service Directory section of the NHS Inform website, where the inclusion of non-statutory services is managed by an organisation called ALISS.
We have also contacted all of the organisations who are registered with Carena to urge them to sign up with ALISS if they haven’t done so already, ensuring that people can still find out about the support they can offer in our communities when searching online.
Additionally, we will doing some public promotion in the coming weeks via the NAHSCP X and Facebook pages to raise awareness of the site’s closure and to signpost residents to the Scotland’s Service Directory page, where they can search for info on services from August 1.
Any assistance in sharing this news with staff or services users, including sharing our social media posts via your own service’s social media accounts where appropriate, would be greatly appreciated.
