Welcome to Your Vote Week 2025

Welcome to Your Vote Week 2025 is taking place from Monday 10 to 16 March.

Across North Ayrshire, schools, colleges and youth groups will be using the campaign to engage with young people on the importance of democracy and making their voices heard.

Run by the Electoral Commission,  the theme of this year’s Welcome to Your Vote Week is ‘get informed and get involved’ highlighting the range of ways young people can get involved and make their voices heard.

Schools and youth groups across the country are being called on to take part in ‘Welcome to Your Vote’ week.

The Electoral Commission has also created new education resources for schools and youth groups including activities and lesson plans for ages 7 to 18 on local democracy and mis- and disinformation that can be used this week.

If you’re starting conversations with young people this week and are planning to share your highlights on social media, remember to use the hashtags #WelcomeToYourVote to help spread the word further.

From getting involved in Scottish Youth Parliament, Youth Forums, Pupil Councils, North Ayrshire Youth Council, Youth Groups, Eco Committees, Sports Leadership, Peer Education – there’s a host of ways that young people can make their voices heard.

If you are working with a young person who would like to make their mark by volunteering, joining a pupil council, area forum or youth council,  contact the council’s Youth Participation Officer – Donna Anderson: danderson@north-ayrshire.gov.uk – for more information.
