Storm Amy will bring very windy and wet weather across northern parts in particular through Friday into Saturday and some areas of North Ayrshire may be affected.
The Met Office yellow warning is in force throughout Scotland between 5pm on Friday 3 October and 9am on Saturday 4 October.
Extra caution should be taken by all road users. Plan ahead if you are travelling on the roads, prepare yourself and your vehicle as wind gusts may be up to 60mph – and up to 70mph in exposed areas.
- Make sure your mobile phone is charged and plan your journey, including an alternative route
- Have plenty of fuel, warm clothing, food, and water in case you’re delayed
- Do not ignore road closure signs – they are there for your safety
- Listen to media broadcasts, including radio, for updates
