Free health checks for staff

Chief exec getting his blood pressure checked by a health professional

The LiveWell group have partnered up with KA leisure to bring FREE health checks to council employees.

Book your FREE health check now!

The KA Leisure health check sessions include lifestyle and weight management advice along with cholesterol, blood pressure, blood sugar testing and the Boditrax machinea clever system that assesses your body and, very quickly, delivers 14 different measurements, such as your ideal weight, your BMI and your metabolic age.

Daytime health checks will take place during business hours as follows (40-mins per slot):

If there are no times showing for these dates, it means all the slots have gone, please email Livewell and we will add your name to our waiting list.

Cunninghame House sessions are taking place on the 3rd Floor West Occupational Health rooms, please go to the waiting room on the righthand side of the corridor (Half-glass door).

Our Chief Executive Craig Hatton recently booked in to one of the health check sessions and is encouraging others to do the same.

He said: “It’s been brilliant having the opportunity to have my recent employee health check, thanks to the LiveWell group and our partners at KA Leisure.

“I think it’s important that colleagues understand just how vital it is to take time for their own health and learn about what they can do proactively to improve it.

“The reason I booked in to a recent KA Leisure health check was because I am mindful that I’m not getting any younger and I knew – for my own peace of mind – that making time to have the check done was going to be beneficial for me.

"It didn’t take long at all, and the health test itself was really simple, it only took half an hour and it looked at age, BMI, blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol levels and more. Overall, it was a really insightful experience and most importantly it was free from stigma or judgement.

Walking away from the health check, I definitely feel more positive. To know that I’m in decent shape and that there’s a number of proactive changes I can make to improve my overall health, has given me the reassurance I was looking for and the knowledge I need to take the suggested changes forward. I am really pleased and would encourage everybody who wants to, to take the time to book on to one of the free upcoming health check sessions. They really aren’t as daunting as they first seem and the KA Leisure staff on the day will guide you every step of the way, just like Celine did during my session.
