Modern Apprentice Recruitment Day

With many young people ready to leave school or setting their employment goals for 2026, the Council’s Employability team is proud to announce it is delivering an upcoming North Ayrshire Modern Apprentice Recruitment Day.

The event is being hosted at Ayrshire College on Tuesday 24 February.

Young people are invited along to drop-in between 3.30pm and 5.30pm to find out more about Modern Apprenticeship opportunities for 16 to 19 year olds living in North Ayrshire.

Did you know that with over 7,500 employees, North Ayrshire Council is one of the area’s biggest employers?

Our Employability team, who deliver Your Next Move, Working North Ayrshire programme - will attend the event to discuss opportunities within the Council across North Ayrshire.

Other stall holders will include representatives from Ayrshire College, CEIS Ayrshire, The Equal Programme and Barnardo’s.

We look forward to welcoming young people, parents and carers to learn more about the variety of opportunities available.

Whether attendees are looking for tailored support, more information on what opportunities are available, or tips on how to take a step up the career ladder, the event is geared to help everyone to achieve their future goals. Tickets are free, book online now.

The Council is now in its 15th year of delivering a successful Modern Apprenticeship programme across Council services, helping hundreds of young people to learn new skills and progress their careers.

The MA programme supports successful candidates to earn while they learn, achieving an industry recognised qualification.

Developing skills, knowledge and experience along the way, the Council currently recruits over 40 new apprentices each year within various departments.

The Modern Apprenticeship Recruitment Day will be an opportunity to find out about Modern Apprentices across Council Services including:

• Business Administration
• Housing
• Horticulture
• Professional Cookery
• Digital Applications
• Customer Service
• Trade Apprenticeships
• Youth Work – these vacancies will be announced in May 2026
