Upcoming NEST neurodiversity support sessions

NEST, Ayrshire's Neurodevelopmental Empowerment & Strategy Team are holding a host of sessions in September to support parents, carers and the neurodiverse community.

A small NHS Ayrshire & Arran team, supported by the three Ayrshire Health & Social Care Partnerships, the Ayrshire team provide in-person workshops throughout the year.

  • Monday 31 August at Dreghorn Fire Station (10am - 12.30pm)
    Supporting Your Autistic Child's Communication Development session BOOK NOW!
    Would you like to learn more about the communication differences you might notice in children who are neurodivergent? This workshop is best suited to families of children and young people showing differences in the development of their language, communication, social interaction and play skills.

  • Tuesday 1 September via Microsoft Teams (6pm - 7.30pm)
    Supporting Sleep In Neurodivergent Children session BOOK NOW!
    This webinar is for parents/carers of neurodivergent/ASN children aged 18 months - 18 years who are experiencing difficulties with sleep. Within the webinar, the team will share with you information to help you understand sleep better and identify techniques to help you to improve your child's sleep.

  • Friday 4 September at Carnegie Library, Ayr (10am - 12.30pm)
    Introduction to Neurodiversity session BOOK NOW!
    This workshop explores the concept of neurodiversity, helping you understand neurodivergence and the differences within the neurodivergent spectrum, such as Autism and ADHD. You'll also gain practical strategies for supporting neurodivergent children and adults in various settings. Ideal for anyone looking to learn more about neurodiversity and how to foster inclusion.

  • Monday 7 September at Monkton Community Church (10am - 1pm)
    Parenting Neurodivergent Children (The Workshop) BOOK NOW!
    Parenting a neurodivergent child can feel overwhelming at times. Our Parenting Neurodivergent Children workshop offers a space to reflect on your wellbeing and explore supportive strategies like mindfulness, breathing techniques, and self-compassion.

  • Monday 14 September at Centrestage Kilmarnock (10am - 1pm)
    Parenting Neurodivergent Children (The Workshop) BOOK NOW!
    Parenting a neurodivergent child can feel overwhelming at times. Our Parenting Neurodivergent Children workshop offers a space to reflect on your wellbeing and explore supportive strategies like mindfulness, breathing techniques, and self-compassion.

Please note: All workshops are for parents/carers/adult individuals only. For safety, comfort and to minimise distractions, the team are unable to accommodate children, therefore no children, including babies can be brought along to any of the workshops.
