Monday 3 August: Temporary road closure Long Drive
Road users are being asked to plan ahead as vital roadworks are carried out in the Towerlands area of Irvine next week. Surface improvement works will get under way at Towerlands Road, from the B7080 Long Drive and Towerlands Roundabout to Cramond Way. The nature of the works means that this section of road will close to traffic from 8am on Monday – read the full update on social media.
Saturday 8 August: Lochshore Highland Games
Head on over to Lochshore Park on Saturday for the return of the second Lochshore Highland Games with highland games themed activities, free food and community stalls. Also on Saturday: Resurfacing of Cunninghame House carpark
Colleagues are being made aware that the carpark and entrance to Cunninghame House (Marress House side) will be closed from 8am on Saturday 8 August until Monday 10 August at 8am. During this time resurfacing will take place and staff should plan in advance to use other nearby carparks.
Lunchtime cycle rides
Looking for a great way to get some fresh air, enjoy a bit of exercise and make the most of your lunch break? Join the Travel Smart team for their series of Lunchtime Cycle Rides, taking place every Tuesday and Wednesday throughout August from noon until 12.45pm. CRM refresher training this week
Customer Relationship Management (CRM) System training takes place on Tuesday and Wednesday this week to reinforce best practice, provide updates on recent changes, and support colleagues in using the CRM system effectively and confidently in their day-to-day roles. Attendance is encouraged for staff who need a refresher or new members of staff.
- Tuesday 4 August: 10am session or 2pm session – book now!
- Wednesday 5 August: 10am session or 2pm session – book now!
Each of the sessions will take place via Microsoft Teams and attendance to only one session is required.

Water update Saltcoats and Ardrossan
The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) are continuing to investigate a pollution incident at Saltcoats and Ardrossan bathing water due to a burst sewage pipe on Monday 29 June. Due to the potential impact on water quality SEPA’s bathing water signage has been updated to advise against bathing. Read the official SEPA update here.
