Could you be a Panel Practice Adviser?

Children's Hearings Scotland are recruiting now! The team are looking for people who have good assessment, observation, and communication skills. Above all else, the team are looking for people who care about making a difference in the lives of children and young people attending hearings in Scotland.

Panel Practice Advisers support Panel Members through feedback to ensure the strongest possible decisions are being made for children and young people. Apply today via the vacancies section of the Children's Hearings Scotland website.

What is involved?

Panel Practice Advisers are responsible for quality assurance and they regularly observe Panel Members within children's hearings and feedback so improvements can be made.

They are also part of the recruitment and selection of new Panel Members and conducting Panel Members re-appointment reviews. Their goal is to support Panel Members through feedback to ensure the strongest possible decisions are being made for children and young people.

Who are Children's Hearings Scotland looking for?

You’ll be enthusiastic and committed to securing the rights of children and young people and improving their outcomes and experiences; able to lead and be part of a team and lastly, a strong communicator.

It will be of benefit if you are already familiar with working with volunteers and be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to and understanding of the ethos of Children’s Hearings Scotland.

Full training is provided, with the aim to enhance your skills in leadership, effective communication, managing conflict and influencing and negotiating – all of which are transferable into the workplace.
