Polling clerks required for Thursday election

The Election team are currently looking for Polling Clerks to support the delivery of the Scottish Parliament Election on Thursday 7 May 2026 as we still have a number of vacancies across North Ayrshire at the following Polling Places, which will be filled on a first come first served basis:

Polling Clerk’s required at:

  1. Townend Community Centre, Dreghorn
  2. Dalry Primary School
  3. Bridgend Community Centre, Kilbirnie
  4. Lainshaw Primary School, Stewarton
  5. Nether Robertland Primary School, Stewarton

The team are also looking for Count Assistants on Friday 8 May 2026 at The Portal, Irvine, KA12 0AZ.

We are also looking for Reserve Staff across North Ayrshire in the event any of our Polling Staff call off or are unwell on the day. The fee for reserve staff is £60 (£35 plus a £25 training fee) and you would receive a full payment for the role you perform if you are called out.

Reserve Staff will need to be able to be contacted and attend a Polling Place on the morning of Poll, if required and will be contacted around 8am to standdown if no longer needed.
